Overview

There’s no shortage of Yacht-Masters on the market—but finding a genuinely well-preserved example is a different story.

This Rolex Yacht-Master 16622 immediately stands apart on condition alone. The case remains clean and well-defined, the dial and platinum bezel retain their original character, and overall it presents far newer than its age would suggest.

For a watch now over 25 years old, that makes a real difference.

While there are cheaper examples available, many have been heavily worn or softened over time. This sits in that sweet spot—honest, well-kept, and exactly how you’d want one to feel on the wrist, without trying to be something it isn’t.

Beyond condition, the Yacht-Master offers something slightly different within the Rolex lineup. It carries the same everyday usability as a Submariner, but with a more refined, almost dress-leaning feel. The sandblasted platinum dial paired with the solid platinum bezel gives it a softer, more luxurious presence—subtle in most light, but catching just enough when it matters.

It also shares its case proportions with the Rolex Daytona 16520 era, giving it a slightly sleeker and more sculpted fit compared to Submariners and Sea-Dwellers of the same period. It wears flatter, lighter, and overall just a touch more considered.

If you’re looking for a first Rolex but want to avoid the obvious route, this is where things start to make a lot of sense—especially when you find one that’s been kept like this.

Condition

Presented in very good overall condition.

Importantly, this is an example that presents exceptionally well for its age. The case retains strong lines, and the dial and platinum bezel are particularly well preserved—placing it above many examples currently on the market.
